Lecture Notes

The lecture script "Foundations of Sequence Analysis" is available in two formats:

  1. As a printable PDF file , for printing and binding.

  2. As an online readable PDF file. Although the other version can be read on screen, this version is optimized for screen presentation. It contains hypertext links for navigation, and it can be read in full screen mode, to avoid distractions from other applications.

To view these files, you need a PDF viewer. We recommend Adobe's Acrobat Reader and the free software Xpdf.

Alignment Visualisation

You can test the alignment algorithms presented in chapter 3.2 of the script with our Sequence Alignment Applet . A (Java Plugin (at least Java 1.4) is needed to run the applet.

SuffixTree Visualisation

Suffix Tree algorithms presented in chapter 4 of the script can tested and visualized with SuffixTree Visualisation Applet. A (Java Plugin (at least Java 1.4) is needed to run the applet.
